Nguyễn Văn Cốc

Many believe the Vietnam air war was a one-sided conflict for the U.S. However, most of the aces in the war were North Vietnamese, in fact, the leading Ace of the Vietnam War was a North Vietnamese pilot, Nguyễn Văn Cốc of the 921st Fighter Regiment (MiG-21PFL fighters) who is credited with nine kills against American aircraft between April 1967 and December 1968. His victories include four F-105s, two F4, one F-102 and two AQM-34 unmanned aerial vehicles.
