Junkers Ju 287

Among a number of far-sighted designs initiated by the Luftwaffe during World War II, the Junkers Ju 287 was one of the most radical. It not only featured turbojet propulsion, but also a forward swept wing. The latter was intended to alleviate the low-speed handling problems inherent in conventionally swept wings. The Luftwaffe wanted a high-speed bomber immune to allied interception, but the Ju 287 arived too late.
