Intelligent Munitions System

Intelligent Munitions System is a smart mine system being developed by General Dynamics (likely General Dynamics Ordnance and Tactical Systems) and the US Army TACOM-ARDEC Picatinny Centre.

The IMS will allow for controlled and safe use of munitions in the battle field and prevent unwanted munitions to be buried and forgotten.
It will be able to tell the difference between friend and foe.

The Intelligent Munition System contract was awarded not to General Dynamics but to Textron Defense Systems in Wilmington, MA.
